Japan’s plan to buy 20 additional F-35s means more work for Fort Worth

Japan plans to buy 20 additional F-35 fighter jets from Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE: LMT) and will opt to have the aircraft manufactured in the U.S., according to a report from Reuters.

The 20 jets will be in addition to the country’s previous order of 42 F-35s, the report said. The noteworthy aspect of this report is the additional fighter jets would be assembled in the U.S. rather than a final assembly plant in Japan.
